There are many ways of using amla powder which can be found on a multitude of Internet pages. Here is a simple recipe for a hair mask:
You will need (for medium length hair; if your hair is very long, very short or very thick, please adjust measurements accordingly):
Heat the coconut oil gently at low temperature until it becomes liquid (do not boil, as it will destroy a lot of useful nutrients). In a glass or ceramic bowl, mix amla powder with oil, yoghurt and a whole egg. Let the mask sit for about 10 min. The paste will thicken during this time. Then add a bit of water to make the paste smoother so it is easier to apply. Instead of water, you can use organic raw grass-fed milk.
Apply to your hair, roots to ends. Leave the mask on your hair for about 30 minutes. Then wash off using shampoo and conditioner as usual. Bear in mind that the mask includes a whole egg, so don’t make the water too hot while washing your hair.
You can also add cassia and shikakai powders into this mask for added positive effects.
